TWO CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH SKELETAL REMAINS OF AIRBORNE SOLDIER FOUND IN TENNESSEE

Private First Class Shadow McClaine, a 101st Airborne Division Soldier, has been identified as the skeletal remains that were found off a Tennessee interstate in mid 2016. McClaine was scheduled to be discharged October 2016, but went missing in early September after serving for six years.

Two suspects in connection with McClaine are currently in custody: Jamal Williams-McCray (McClaine’s ex-husband) and Charles Robinson. Both suspects were arrested in November 2016 and have since remained in pretrial confinement. Both men currently face numerous Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) charges, including: Article 134 (kidnapping), Article 81 (conspiracy), and Article 118 (premeditated murder).

McClaine disappeared three weeks before her scheduled court date in which she faced felony stalking charges against Williams-McCray.

Under Article 118 of the UCMJ, if a defendant is found to have unlawfully killed with “a pre-meditated design to kill,” or during the commission of some other violent felony, then that defendant “shall be sentenced to death or life imprisonment.” 10 U.S.C. § 918, Art. 118. (emphasis added).
