Trial begins Monday for Air Force Academy cadet charged with sexual abuse

Last Wednesday, the Air Force Academy announced Court-martial proceedings for Cadet 2nd Class Zachery Chubb are scheduled to begin Monday, February 29.

Chubb was charged with with sexual assault last March for multiple incidents involving a woman. He is currently facing three separate counts, one count being for rape and another two counts for abusive sexual contact, all in violation of Article 120 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The Air Force arrested Chubbs after the victim filed an official complaint against him at the beginning of last year. The complaint and subsequent charges filed against Chubbs relate to a single incident between him and the victim which took place on October 18, 2014.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that Chubbs penetrated her with his finger and groped her buttocks. Additionally, the original charge sheet alleged that he forcibly placed the victim's hand on his penis without her consent.
